Cameleers Belt 1 1/4"

$155.00

Once a staple technology of the stock camps and camel yards of Central and Northern Australia, the twist braid is formed by expertly slitting a single piece of leather and twisting the strands. A loop is formed that allows the maker to affix a buckle on a belt or girth strap without need of rivets or stitching and remains a meditation on genius born of practicality and necessity.

The James B. Young Cameleers belt is a classic bush belt cut from an un-dyed and un-finished full grain bridle leather. Over many years it will journey from its light colouring to a warm and deep brown as it burnishes and patinas from contact with the the natural world and the wearer in a most satisfying way.

Sizing: Please follow the prompts and supply a measurement via the form when you add this product to your cart. If you are uncertain please get in contact prior to ordering.

Ordering: Your belt will be made to order by James B. Young in his Alice Springs workshop. Please allow up to 3 weeks for delivery from the time of purchase.
